Getting to Jakarta

Episode 2 or Friday:

I had to stand up early than intended because  of a thunderstorm in order to reach Frankfurt. You heard right, I didn’t say Frankfurt Airport, that’s because I needed to get my visa first at the Embassy. After all everything went fine and I got my visa. Luckily from Frankfurt you only need like 15 minutes in a train to the airport. I had my last lunch in Germany, spent by my mother (Thank you!). We said goodbye and I left for my gate.

Episode 3 or Saturday:

After some  11.5 hours in the airplane I finally made it to Bangkok. At the dawn of the day in Bangkok or from my position in the middle of Germany’s night I saw Stefan for the first time. If I haven’t mentioned him yet, he is going to work in the same project as I do. Literally tired we waited together for our plane to Jakarta, but the sun wouldn’t let us get any sleep at all. In the airplane we finally found some sleep, for some 30 minutes or so just because our eyes would close themselves. In Jakarta we needed another hour to get out of the airport and we were finally welcomed by a small welcoming comitee. A picture was taken and before we really could realize what happend we stood outside of the airport. The wet heat shattered us and our only hope was the air conditioning in the car which saved us from fainting.

That has been our way to Indonesia. Now we are at the arrival camp for serval days and will leave for Bogor on the 26th. We visited a theme park showing all the house types of Indonesia and learned a lot about the culture yet.
