A new Home

I don’t know when you will actually read this post, since I still have to look how to manage all the things with the internet, but I’m writting it for you anyway. It might be that you get like several posts at once. So all I did today was pretty much await the very moment I would first meet my host family. Then, at an unexpected moment it happened. We just wanted to get something to drink in a shop near by the AFS National Office when suddenly a call from the Office informed us that my hostfamily was there. Lingga and Chandri with her boyfriend picked me up. We had some nice talks throughout the very long drive, thanks to the Jakarta Traffic Jam. At first we went to the familys restaurant and that’s where I found out that I really love Indonesia Food. We were welcomed by the eldest of my host brothers and his family and my host father ( in Indonesian „Bapak“, so in the future I’ll only write „Bapak“). The restaurant is really impressive and must be beautifully located which I couldn’t varify because it was night already when I got there. The restaurant has actually three kitchens, two running right now. A big staff, like 15 people working there and many little buildings for the guests to gather at. I will take some pictures at daylight to show you. The restaurant goes uphill so on it highest point they put an hundert year old house from Yogyakarta. They actually imported it from there, which is to say they deconstructed it there and reconstructed it here. Only to find out that directly after the „house-moving“ in 1996 an earthquake destroyed the former „house-home“. Inside of this house the welcoming dinner was served. I couldn’t stop watching the beautiful sealing and the very traditional room. But then the food got all my attention because it was so delicious. At first we had a fruit-cocktail. I can’t say what was inside, but it was at least 10 types of fruits. I was so occupied with being amazed that I forgot to take a picture for you. The only picture I mad there was me with my host family. From right to left Lingga, Bapak, Me and Chandri. Then we went to the actual house I will live in for the next twelf months. After passing the security guards protecting the neighborhood I’m living in we came to my new home. What can I say, if it wasn’t that astonishing and also totally dark I would have taken you some beautiful pictures of it. I love it already. The only thing I took pictures of is my room. Just check them out for yourself.

Update: Just added a few pictures of my house and I will make it to the internet today. In two ways I will have internet at home.
