About Ujung Kulon: Green Part 3

Last but not least. The third day of green, until it turned blue. What? You’ll get me in a second, or two. Staying in the second shelter was not too comfortable, but I guess that’s the price you have to pay for an adventure. We couldn’t really sleep (it was only 6p.m.) and talked for a while, eventually we slept away. But the first light, before the sun rises, woke us up and we had breakfast. We started walking again with the first sun-rays touching our faces. This time it would go uphill for quite a while. It was exhausting, but beautiful. On top of the hill we made a break, not for to long, we all wanted to get home. The way down was fast, but we had to cross many creeks. And all of the sudden the jungle ended and the endless blue of the ocean embraced us. Well not so endless, because in front of us was Peucang Island, our next destination. We came to the docks. But of cause nobody was there. We had to pull up a flag and wait until someone other at Peucang Island would see the orange flag. After an hour or two somebody came by and took us out of the jungle, back to something alike civilization. Sitting in the small boat crossing the strait I gave all the deprivation we had lived through in the last three days a thought. But also the beauties of escaping the modern world, escaping into a small paradise were computers are useless, where green, brown and blue dominates the perception. I had a smile on my face, and if I get a chance to do something similar, I would do it right away.

Was?

Primero caminabamos cuesta arriba or un rato.
