Indotrip: Bira

So today I’m running a bit late in writing you for several reasons. Today I’m going to tell you about our stay in Bira. A sleepy seaside village at the south-eastern part of South Sulawesi. If you come under the week you may even wonder how there could be tourism at all in such a small place. But once the weekend comes nearly all rooms are booked from people escaping Makassar (the capital of Sulawesi) for a while. You’re better of being her under the week if you want to enjoy the loneliness. But if you happen to be there on a weekend, you definitely should go for the East Beach since less local tourists go there, they tend to stay at the West Beach close to the Hotels. Furthermore the East Beach has palmtrees. But either beach is beautiful and we really enjoyed staying there. Our roof was supplied by the Bira Beach Hotel. The advantage, having breakfast right at the beach. There is a nice restaurant have the way up the road. It is part of the Salassa Guest House. Besides the tasty food you can get all the information you need here. The owner will tell you realistic prices for any kind of activity and help you organize snorkeling, getting around or even getting back to Makassar. For the adventurous they might try to use the Internet there, but be ready for absolute slowness. For three nights we enjoyed the calm setting before we moved on. Enjoy it one more time with me via the pictures we made.
