Visitors on short Notice

Friday, a normal day at work until I got an short message in the midday break. Anja, a german that prepared me last may for Indonesia, was travelling around Indonesia. She asked if she could come by with her friend for a couple of days. After a few calls everything was settled and saturday afternoon they were sitting in my favorite cafe waiting for me to pick them up after work. That evening we just chilled. I introduced them to some of my friends. We went to the movies, watching “How to train your dragon 3D”. On sunday we had ambitious plans, going to the Botanical Garden. We met up with some friends and were ready to explore the wide gardens. You might think a botanical garden can’t be the scene for an adventure, but you’re wrong. One second we were still walking on a paved way and before we knew it we were standing in the middle of the jungle. It must have been a way that nobody has used in ages. It got thinner and thinner until we had to fight our way through. Eventually it was a dead end and we had to return a few meters. But lucky us we found a path that had been hidden from the view if you came from the other direction and after a few more meters we were in the civilized park again. Standing on the grassland again made the jungle trip a mere dream and only the dirt reminded us of were we have been. We enjoyed some fresh juices and sit down at a pond before we went on. Since time was limited we visited several restaurants with more or less tipical food. On monday I took them to see my work and after a jolly round with all students they had the chance to get interviewed by our advanced students. We had some intense and interesting conversation on culture. But time went by so fast, so they had to leave again. We picked up their stuff at my house and my hostfather took them to the family’s restaurant. I couldn’t join them because I had to work again. But I hope they had a great time here in Bogor and come by again some time. Enjoy your last week in Indonesia!

Conocer a unos amigos. Hace tiempos que nadie he caminado acá.
